Gary Minnaar founded Avant-Garde Financial Services (Pty) Ltd in July 1996, after having spent 15 years with the Liberty Group. Starting his career in Gauteng as a Consultant he excelled on the sales side qualifying many times for the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table as well as the International Quality Award.
Gary then moved quickly into the management role, recruiting and developing agents and managers in their careers within Liberty, building and running many agency branches in Gauteng.
In 1992 he took a big step and moved his family down to Natal to take over the Natal Agency Division of the Liberty Group. His responsibilities were to build, manage and maintain the Agency Division, which comprised of 10 managers, 7 branches and over 150 consultants. Gary was not only one of Liberty's top managers but also one of the youngest Senior Field Managers.
After reaching the highest field position in Liberty he took up the challenge of setting up Liberty's first franchise operation in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Avant-Garde Financial Services opened it's doors in July 1996 and in July 2001 it acquired Frontline Financial Advisors and incorporated this into the company. The company currently has a staff compliment of 55 people and a management team of 4. Due to this rapid expansion the company has bought land and is in the process of developing its Head Office in the prestigious La Lucia ridge. The aim is to offer a comprehensive financial service to clients.
Gary
has served as the Vice Chairman of LUASA's Natal Committee, as well as
the National Vice President of LUASA. Gary is also a totally committed
family man, with four children and has his Natal Colours for cycling.
